Hotel Svendborg new manager at Valdemar's Castle.
Since 1. January 2005, the Halberg family owned Hotel Svendborg with managing director Tom Pelle Jensen at the helm, has had the responsibility for the attractions of the castle. This happens via a joint venture company, which runs the castle.
A strengthening
This new agreement is definitly a strengthening of the castle's future, Mrs. Caroline Fleming says and continues: -with my husband's business abroad, we have to realize that we cannot spend the necessary time on the castle, so this is a perfect result for the castle's future.
The castle is a southern Funen tourist magnet with, among others, a toy museum, one of the word's best hunting and trophy museums and a yachting museum.

Valdemar's Castle on Tåsinge is Funen's second biggest castle attraction. For ten generations the descendants of the Danish naval hero, Niels Juel, have run the castle. Since 1938, baron Niels Iuel-Brockdorff has lived at the castle. In the later years, it has been the daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Rory Fleming who have had the great task of running the castle, which today contains restaurants/cafees/function rooms, woods and farming and some of the best museums in the contry,and of course the castle itself and the surroundings are an attraktion in their own right. |
